At the beginning of the school year, one student in our education program was close to leaving class. The cost of books, a uniform, and daily transport had become too much for the family supporting him.\n\nDaya’s education team worked with the school and caregiver to put practical support in place. A volunteer mentor began meeting him each week—not only to help with assignments, but to listen.\n\nBy the end of the term, his attendance was steady and his teachers saw a more confident student taking part in class. The backpack mattered. Having someone consistently believe in him mattered even more.
